Friends of Norwood Center Fundraiser – Comedy Night

Thursday, November 17, 7:30pm

Presented by The Friends of Norwood Center.

Announcing our 2016 Fundraiser for the purpose of hiring a Downtown Marketing Manager. Invest in and support Norwood Center by attending COMEDY NIGHT at The Norwood Theatre with Lenny Clark, Dave Russo, Jim Colliton, and Jessica Russo. It’s going to be a great show!

Lenny Clarke is a comedian and actor, famous for his thick Boston accent and role as Uncle Teddy on the series Rescue Me. Born in Cambridge, he was the most famous “saloon comic” in Boston during the 1980s. The DVD release When Standup Stood Out (2006) details Clarke’s early career and affiliations with other famous Boston comics. In 1980, Clarke wrote and starred in a local television show Lenny Clarke’s Late Show featuring Wright and Leary, and in movies like Monument Ave., Fever Pitch and Southie.

Dave Russo was recently named “Best Male Comic” by the Boston Examiner. Dave is co-host of NESN’s Dirty Water TV, he produces a regular comedy series, in addition to reporting on the best of Boston night life. He has appeared on The E! TV series The Entertainer, NBC’s The Today Show, FOX 25 with Gene Lavanchy, The Phantom Gourmet, and was selected by the producer of NBC’s Last Comic Standing to perform on NESN’s Comedy All-Stars. You can hear him every Friday on 980 WCAP.

Being married and raising 3 kids, Jim Colliton has turned his every man’s life style into a hilarious comedy routine. Talking about basic daily activities like yard work or dealing with peanut butter allergies, Jim’s love for performing comes across every time he takes the stage. His well-crafted jokes are weaved into his spontaneous crowd work bringing down the house at comedy clubs and cruise ships across the world.

There is a fresh new face on the comedy scene these days and her petite stature is guaranteed to take audiences to all new comic heights. Jessica Casciano was a semifinalist in the Boston Comedy Festival, Sam Adams Light Contest, and was chosen to be showcased by Marshall’s Women In Comedy. She was also showcased as one of Mix 98.5’s Funniest People in New England and won WFNX’s Yuks 4 Buks Contest (which landed her a weekly position as Resident Funny Lady on WFNX radio).
