Jake Hoot, WINNER OF THE VOICE, SEASON 17 AND The Battle of Champions!
The action heated up on The Voice’s Battle of Champions and Season 29 when coach Kelly Clarkson called in some powerful back-up as Season 17 champion Jake Hoot returned to the fold to remind audiences why he stole the crown back in 2019. On Monday April 6th's show a Battle of Champions competition was held between The Voice's first-ever All-Star Showdown with Jake joining Team Kelly's "Girl Named Tom", Team Adam winners "Javier Colon" & "Jordan Smith" and Team Legend stars "Maelyn Jarmon" and "Renzo."
Jake was chosen the winner by celebrity judge, the return of CeeLoo Green, and Jake closed the TV show to a standing ovation with his performance of "Desperado" by the Eagles. CeeLoo said " I've got to give the win to the cowboy! He moved me!" It was "Desperado" and his cover of Morgan Wallen's "Cover Me Up" that ultimately got him crowned the Season 17 winner after an unforgettable run.
Jake Hoot is a wonderful storyteller who doesn't just sing country music - he lives it with passion! Rooted in faith, devoted to family, and carrying the heart of the country in every note! He was born in Texas and raised between the Dominican Republic and Tennessee, and his music embodies a life steeped in faith, family and authenticity. In 2020 in response to EF4 Tornados that hit Tennessee Jake released his original song as a music video "Tennessee Strong" donating the proceeds from downloads and streams to Middle Tennessee Emergency Response.
As much as Jake likes to perform, his love is also song writing. Kelly Clarkson asked Jake to write her a love song that they could perform as a duet in Season 17. "I Would've Loved You" became a music video in 2020 and it's still played on YouTube & Vevo!
A musical evening with Jake is part country, folk rock and pop music. It's all memorable and sung with passion. Enjoy!
