Ticket buyers beware - about ticket resellers

Ticket resellers - also known as scalpers, or third party ticket sellers - sell tickets (often on speculation and usually at inflated prices) on websites that may mimic the appearance of The Norwood Theatre’s website (our website is norwoodstage.com). Tickets purchased from these websites are significantly more expensive than those purchased directly from The Norwood Theatre. Plus, tickets NOT purchased through The Norwood Theatre may not be valid and admission could be denied.

HOW CAN I BUY AUTHORIZED TICKETS FOR NORWOOD THEATRE EVENTS?

Our box office is located at the front doors of the theatre at 109 Central St in Norwood, MA. We’re open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30am - 6:30pm, and for several hours before each event. (These hours might differ during the summer.) You can also call during box office hours to purchase tickets over the phone at 781-551-9000.

Tickets can also be purchased online at norwoodstage.com. Please note that while you will begin on a norwoodstage.com page, once you click the BUY TICKETS button on an event page, you will be transferred to a page on ovationtix.com. This is our authorized ticket seller.

Please note: There is a Norwood Theatre that is a movie theater located in Canada. They use the domain norwoodtheatre.com. That is NOT our website.

WHY & HOW SHOULD I AVOID BUYING FROM TICKET RESELLERS?

When tickets are purchased from unofficial sources:

  • You may pay more than face value.

  • We cannot guarantee that your tickets are genuine, and you may be denied entrance to the event.

  • We cannot replace lost or stolen tickets.

  • We cannot contact you with information on show cancellations or other useful information.

We recommend that you follow these best practices when purchasing tickets online:

  • Purchase online tickets only through norwoodstage.com.

  • Do not click on search results labelled as ads that do not link directly to The Norwood Theatre’s website.

  • If tickets are unavailable, contact the Box Office instead of searching third-party sites.

  • Do NOT post pictures of your tickets on social media. Resellers may use them to create counterfeit tickets.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I PURCHASED TICKETS FROM A RESELLER?

If any of these are not true, you likely purchased your tickets from a reseller:

  • Your confirmation email should come from an address at ovationtix.com.

  • Your confirmation email and tickets will both have your name on them.

  • Unless you are attending a general admission event, your exact seat numbers will be assigned at the time of purchase.

WHAT DO I DO IF I THINK I MAY HAVE PURCHASED FROM A RESELLER?

You can call The Norwood Theatre at 781-551-9000 and we will look up your order number. However, please be aware that if you DID purchase from a reseller, we can not refund, cancel or reissue those tickets. You will need to contact the website where you bought the tickets to discuss their policies.

The tickets you purchased may be valid and get you into your event without incident (you probably paid significantly more than face value). However, it is not uncommon for counterfeit tickets to be sold through reseller sites. If you have been a victim of counterfeit tickets, you should contact your bank for assistance.

These are some examples of popular ticket scalping sites. Please do not click on or purchase from them.
